Determining Value of Pez Dispensers
If you've ever wondered about the Pez dispensers you see at garage sales and their value, we have some answers. Below you will find a few pointers to determine age, value and whether or not they might be worth selling on eBay. One recently sold for over $1200, so it is worth your time to get informed!
The Pez dispensers all have a number on them somewhere and you want to find the ones with the lower number on the side. These are the older ones -- starting with a "3" for example. The ones starting with a "4" are more recent.
Also, some of the older ones have feet. If they are thin feet, these are generally more valuable. The regular sized feet Pez dispensers are more common, however.
Condition is a factor so be sure to check for cracks, a loose spring, or a head that no longer works or is loose.
In addition, you will want to watch out for Pez dispensers with errors (for instance a Darth Vader inside a Luke Skywalker original wrapper). These are generally one of a kind and will command a higher price on eBay.
There are several books as well to aid you in identifying Pez. "Collector's Guide to Pez" by Shawn Peterson, is one that I recommend.
