Well, I've learned a lot about what sells on eBay, but I certainly don't know everything. I learned a hard lesson at an auction last Friday night.
There were a set of 12 Jadite Restaurant Ware Flat Rimmed Soup Bowls at this auction. I knew they were going to be there and that they were worth some money, but I neglected to check eBay before heading off to the auction.
I had planned to bid on these bowls and figured that at the most, I would spend about $10 each for them. Well, when the bidding began at $30 per bowl and ended at $35 per bowl, I (and several other disgusted women) walked away shaking our heads saying that they just aren't worth that much! I figured the guy who bought them didn't have a clue of their value and just wanted them for himself.
Later on at the auction, I questioned him as to how much he thinks they are really worth. He promptly told me that the bowls are selling on eBay for $100 EACH!
I didn't believe him, but when I got home I made sure to check eBay. I am sorry to say, that he was right. There is a set of 4 of these that sold recently for almost $400. There are many other single bowls like these that have sold for $80-90 as well.
Well, I've included a picture here so you all now know what to look for! The lesson here is, do your homework on eBay before heading off to an auction!
