Starbucks has spent a lot of energy in promoting the new Lionsgate movie released last Friday, "Akeelah and the Bee". Their stores feature coasters, cup sleeves, and stickers plastered all over the windows.
Starbucks chose to promote this particluar movie because, " “Akeelah and the Bee is a story that reflects the values of creativity,
community, hope and perseverance which we at Starbucks hold dear."

Even more fun though, is a visit to the Akeelah site, where movie goers can play games, and send e-cards to their friends with a specific spelling word on it. There is also a special Bee Connected section, where fans can share their experiences about participating in a spelling bee, seeing the film, or subscribe to the film’s blog.
